Bookcases
Bookcases are available in all shapes and sizes. From floor to ceiling, to waist height or open or closed cupboards, there are many to choose from. Some have sliding doors while others have regular doors to keep the books safe from dust and moisture.
Measure the space where you want your new bookcase to go. Make sure there is plenty of space around it to walk past. Count up the amount of books you have to fit into the bookcase, as you might need a larger one than what your floor space dictates, or buy two and put another one in a different room.
If you want your books on show, you could opt for the open bookcase which allows easy access to the books. Some bookcases come with lights installed in the top to allow you to read the spines of the books more easily. If you opt for a closed bookcase, maybe buying one with interior lights will be a good idea so you can easily find the books you're seeking.
Consider the style of the bookcase before buying. Is your home decorated in traditional style or a more modern contemporary style? There are wooden bookcases or ones with metal or chrome legs. Either painted, pine or oak wooden bookcases are normally very solid and can be a centrepiece in any room.
If you buy a bookcase with shelves, see if they are adjustable to cater for taller or smaller books. By having the adjust-ability you can help organize your books more easily and maybe fit a vase on one of them so it is not all just books on show. Visualize the bookcase in your home and how it will look, if you don't have many books then a smaller one might be better or one that hangs on the wall.
